Try Our Practice AssessmentWhat is the Traitify Cognitive Assessment?
This is an assessment of your ability to solve problems you may not have come across before. It uses shapes to find out how you spot patterns and connections between the shapes, and then use what you have found to solve problems. Using information to solve problems is important in many areas of life. The assessment is an indicator of your ability to do this.
Why have I been asked to take the Traitify Cognitive Assessment?
The organization that has asked you to take the assessment will want to know more about your ability to solve problems. This is often used as part of a job selection process. You may also have been asked to complete the assessment for another reason such as career development or getting guidance on jobs that may be suitable for you.
I have not done an assessment like this before. Does this matter?
No. All the information you need to understand the assessment and get ready to take it is on this site. Full instructions and example and practice questions are also given at the start of the assessment.
Does it matter if English is not my first language?
No. You will need to read the instructions, but these have been carefully written to be accessible and use simple English. The assessment questions are all based on visual problems so no reading is required.
How will the assessment results be used?
This depends on why you have been asked to take the assessment. If it is for job selection, results will probably be used with other information to look at your suitability for the job. If used for development or career guidance, results will help you learn more about your abilities and how you might use these at work.
Is the assessment fair?
The assessment has been carefully developed to be fair to all people who take it. This practice site has also been developed to ensure fairness. It means everyone who takes the assessment knows about it and how they can do their best, regardless of their background or past experience of taking tests.
What should I do if I have a specific learning disability or other difficulties completing the assessment?
If you think it will be difficult for you to complete the assessment you should contact the organization that asked you to take it. They should be able to talk to you about your concerns.
How will Traitify store my results?
Traitify will store your results for as long as the organization requires the results based on the purpose you've been asked to complete the assessment.
Who will see my assessment results?
The organization that sent you the link to the assessment will get a copy of your results. Each organization will vary in how they use the results and who sees them. If the organization asking you to take the test has not told you, you should contact them to find out who will see your results.
How can I prepare for the assessment?
This site contains all the information you need to prepare for the assessment. We recommend that you first watch the video about the assessment. When you have done this, use these FAQ pages to answer any questions you still have. Finally, have a go at the practice assessment and take time to look at your results and the explanations to the assessment questions. You can retake the assessment again at any time if you wish. This is a suggested way of using this site, but please feel free to use it how you wish.
What do I need to do to take the assessment?
You will either take the assessment as part of your application process or be sent a link to take the assessment following submission of your application. When you click on this link you will see the assessment instructions and be able to try some practice questions. You can then start the assessment itself when you are ready. For the assessment itself, you will work through a number of questions, giving an answer to each as you go. If you can’t answer a question, you can skip it and come back to it at the end of the assessment if you want.
How long does the assessment take?
The test is quite short. Most people complete the whole assessment in about five minutes, but if you take a bit more or a bit less time, that’s fine.
Where should I take the assessment?
You can take the assessment wherever you like but to do your best it is important that you can focus and are not distracted. You should take the assessment in a quiet place where you know you will not be disturbed.
Do I need to answer all the questions in one go?
Yes, we ask that you answer all the questions in one go.
How should I approach the assessment?
First, carefully read the instructions at the start of the assessment and make sure you know how to do the assessment. Look at the example and practice questions and the explanations given for these. When you start the assessment questions, try not to get stuck for too long on any questions. If you can’t work one out, you can skip it and come back to it later. If you really can’t answer a question, it’s fine to leave it out. The practice assessment covers all these areas and is a great way of helping you understand how to approach the assessment.
What if my connection fails when I’m taking the assessment?
You need to be connected to a network to start the assessment and submit your answers. If you lose you connection, do not close the assessment. Reconnect to your internet or mobile connection, then go back to the assessment window and submit your answers.
